MEET: Sayarun

MEET: SAYARUN NESSACapture

Sayarun Nessa is a mother in her 30s who is from a Bangladeshi ethnic background. She has been an active participant in our special Hot House Flowers group of learners. She has also begun volunteering once a week at J-GO. We spoke to her about her experience with the e3 project and what she hopes to achieve in the future. This is what she had to say:

Sayarun, please tell us a little bit about yourself.

My name is Sayarun and I have one son. I completed my education up to college level in Bangladesh and taught at a Primary School for a few years before coming to the UK. I can speak 3 languages: Bengali, Hindi and some English.

What do you enjoy doing?

I really like to help and support people and children in particular.

What do you hope to achieve through the E3 Project?

I want to improve my English so I can work, become independent and support myself and my son.

How has the E3 Project helped you so far?

By being part of the E3 Project and the Hot House Flowers I have learnt how to use technology, internet and improved my English.

Tell us of your proudest achievement

I am really proud of realising my son was autistic really early on, before the doctors, and giving him the support and attention he needed.

Thank you very much for your time Sayarun and we look forward to seeing you go on to achieve great things.
