MEET: Syeda

Syeda is a British-Bangladeshi housewife and mother of two residing in East London with her family. She has been an active participant in our special Hot House Flowers group of learners. We spoke to her about her experience with the e3 project and what she hopes to achieve in the future. This is what she had to say:

Please tell us a little bit about yourself.

I have two daughters and I am currently learning English. My hobbies include trying new things and I enjoy creating Mendhi (Henna) designs. I also like meeting people. My childhood dream was to become a teacher and I would like a career with children in the future as a teaching assistant.

What do you hope to achieve through the E3 Project?

I want to improve my English, make new friends and increase my confidence.

Has the E3 Project helped you so far?

Yes because when you come to the sessions, you talk and meet new people and improve your skills. It helped me build confidence.

Tell us of your proudest achievement

When I speak good English I feel proud because before I didn’t speak English that much. Now I can speak confidently with my daughter’s teacher, doctor etc

Thank you very much for your time Syeda and we look forward to seeing you go on to make your dreams come true.
